ECOSOC Hones in on Future Development Cooperation

SouthSouthNews - 5 July 2012 - ECOSOC's Development Cooperation Forum centered on the imperative of strategizing key partnerships, policies and structures needed to help eradicate global poverty and build sustainable development. ECOSOC President Milos Koterec was joined by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in opening the two-day session where Mr. Ban outlined five areas of improvement that countries should address, including boosting accountability and transparency and funding for the most vulnerable, as the UN Chief called for collaboration, coherence and partnership where all stakeholders " deliver as one" in order to achieve development goals.
