Nova Scotia Archives is an integrated organization combining the Public Archives of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Records Management. It is mandated to acquire and preserve government and private-sector records of provincial significance; to facilitate access thereto; and to develop policies, standards, procedures and services for effective records management in government. Holdings include inactive records of government departments and corporate bodies (churches, businesses, organizations, and communities, etc.); papers of families and individuals; a 50,000 title library; newspapers; genealogical sources; documentary art and photographs; maps and architectural plans; sound recordings and moving images.
