My brother and I built this raised garden bed from 2 x 6 cedar lumber. It measures 5' x 12' and contains a mix of fine composted soil, worm castings and sweet peet. The tomatoes are a mix of beefsteak, cherry, lemon boy and big beef. I also have green beans, cantaloupe, zucchini, cucumber, various hot peppers, radish and red beets. A few herbs are also in the mix. This is my first attempt at growing a garden and so far it is giving me great joy and I'm learning a lot about God's great earth and how amazing nature really is. I hope you enjoy watching. Any helpful hints are always welcome. Peace out! -"Farmer" George

  • Great video. This is my first year growing anything as well and I started a series too. I'm trying to see as many different veggie gardens as I can to see how other folks are doing. I've learned pretty much everything from youtube and I'll be watching yours for updates.

  • Yes Jason, this is my first try too...(its about time at age 50...heh heh...). I'm learning lots from others here on youtube and by Mother Nature also! Good Growing! -George

  • Thanks Ray! I'm learning lots from your videos...you are truly a pro! I got the pvc hoop trick here on youtube. I actually attached 1 foot sections of 1 inch pvc to the inside of my raised bed and the 1/2 inch pvc simply slips into the 1 inch. You can also simply stick the 1/2 inch into the soil...works great! -George
