Emulate3D technology has many applications within the airport baggage handling vertical. It is used for demonstrating baggage handling solutions to the prospective clients of systems integrators or equipment manufacturers, and it is used for the virtual commissioning, or off line PLC testing of the system.

Demo3D is perfect for the creation of models which demonstrate what the end result will look like before they are built. You can import a wide range of CAD files, like the building you see here*, then construct the dynamic baggage handling system within it.

Emulate3D is used to verify and correct the control systems used to ensure baggage is securely delivered from check in to the plane, from one flight to another, or from the plane to the carousel. Users connect PLCs to the model to carry out virtual testing and commissioning before they go on site; thereby cutting on site time and costs and resulting in more robust controls. Taking the logical verification of the control system off the project's critical path is key to a higher quality solution and a lower cost of ownership.

Sim3D is used for throughput analysis and "what if?" modeling. Can your design cope with a 20% rise in carried bags? What if the airport took on a low cost carrier, with fewer bags per person but many more destinations, how would the system react? Simulation modeling can help provide a much deeper understanding of how a system will react to changes, and supports users in their decision-making processes.

  • Very well done

  • gives me an idea on how to best display managing baggage in a more intelligent ways at twice the speed and half the cost.
