Once the locks are occupied and the doors locked up, the fill or discharge takes about 20 minutes. if you were too see the big light boards on either side of the locks doors, they will tell any captain or pilot how far the locks are when filling or discharging..Amazing stuff..

Wow. Great to see this footage. Went through here in 1971 on British bulk carrier Bel-Hudson. Brings back lot of memories going through the locks. Fantastic trip.
