International Shinbudo Association

International Shinbudo Association (ISA) is a non-profit organization of national teams, clubs and groups from several countries, which organizes its large competitions under safe rules. Membership in ISA is free. You can become members if you attend ISA Festival (each year in Europe), or if you attend other international events organized by ISA members under ISA sport rules ("Shinbudo"), or if you organize your own national "Shinbudo" event. Main Shinbudo disciplines are Mix Kumite fights for kids, Jujutsu Kata competitions and Sport Kenjutsu similar to chanbara and kendo. There are also classical Judo competitions (more grappling than in Olympic judo) and semi-contact Karate competitions with armor. As of 2012 all age up to 18 will do MIX Kumite, and all will be offered to do "soft kudo" (no knees and elbows, simplified rules, allowed chest guards and shin&instep pads). Welcome.
