You must be good at something. Because hes a very intelligent man and he cast very good actors in his films so I think that was it.

do people feel that his appearance, out of makeup, seems to change a lot? I know his hair color/style changes a lot, but also his eye color IMO. and his accent changes even during an interview. And his height is controversial of course. Part of it is age but I think he has had facial cosmetic surgery too (lips and nose) . None of this is intended to be negative, if anything, it makes him more intriguing.
