i love this sheikh! he makes everything make sense!---well kinda...cause i wondering about the obligation of only MEN really needing to pray on fridays but for women it is not really that emphasized cuz they would need to take care of the kids...however what if u do not have children and such? then if should be just as important for women to pray as well...just kinda wanted to add that in as my food for thought but then ofc he did say it was optional for women

@donkeypokeywokey SAlamalaikom brother.. Maybe u will loose ur job, maybe u will face some difficulties. But Allah swt test those whom he loves. If u leave u r job only to attend the jummah prayer inshaAllah u will be successful not only in this world but in there herafter aswell.

Allah says in Quran just by saying ur a muslim is not enough u will surely be tested. And jummah prayer is Farz brother. U should attend the prayer to prevent the big loss in the hereafter.

Actually Jesus conquered death and rose on Sunday. This is why Sunday, yes Christians did adopt sun images (halos...) The Jews was always Saturday god rested. Funny though Jesus is the light. Muslims adopted pagan symbols also the crescent moon(bel-moon god) darkness. Also the morning star(Lucifer) I still don't understand Friday? Also the new Testament was written within 30 to 50 years after Jesus' death and has the most reliable manuscripts in history. Koran?

I've attended Jum'mah prayer for the past several years now.

Islam is a common sense religion. No one suggests that you simply walk away from your place of employment w/o notifying your supervisor(s) in advance.

I told mine that I'll be attending prayer EVERY Friday unless something URGENT comes up and there have been FEW Friday prayers that I've missed in the past 10 years.

So, even if your comment was sarcastic, I still thank you for the opportunity to post my comment.

continuing with sub7seven's answer. And beside, out of 24 hours, how does it hurt to take an hour or less to go to Jumma' prayer@ donkeypokey. We tend to be soo busy running around left and right chasing the worldly life, but we forget that we have a final destination.
