  • @GrockJake I think it's actually up a half step. or just the same

  • @stoptheshow95 I know it's the Pixies song. This song has always been a very dark song for me. When the Pixies did it, it was full of anger, but it still had the pop sensibility to it. The Promise Ring took it and made it much more grittier. I think they even down-tuned their instruments here. The production of the Pixies version was very clean cut, whereas this version comes across as very rough. The singer sounds like he's ready to off himself in this. I dunno... it's just my opinion.

  • @GrockJake My point is your first comment didn't even make sense. How could the Pixies' sound take away from the vibe of the song when they created the song in the first place? Besides that, this is pretty much a note for note cover, the main difference being the vocals. Not trying to knock this band (to each his own), but you really think this guy's vocals are 'darker' than Frank's furious screams of breaking the walls and killing everyone in the original?

  • @stoptheshow95 The only "bad joke" here is the one where you pretend that that things cannot be interpretted differently... oh wait, you're not pretending...

  • @GrockJake

The Pixies pop sound took away from the vibe of the song?

Is that some kind of bad joke?

  • Too many haters on here... fuck you. The Promise Ring is amazing. In fact, I think this cover may even be better than the Pixies. The song has a very dark vibe, and the lyrics are quite dark. Whereas the Pixie's pop sounded somewhat took away that vibe, the Promise Ring managed to create it.

  • Good Song by blur :) i love that song

  • owh what a bad singer ,

  • i like the promise ring, but this cover adds nothing to the song. it sounds like he's singing over the exact music the pixies laid down, as opposed to them adding the promise ring's sound to it, which is what a good cover does.

  • like the version
