Yes it uses the camera to detect Nintendo DSi Tilts :-D. Search for the official European trailer (search "Rollway Puzzle" on youtube) for confirmation

probably, if you look closely, you can see the players head reflect onto the top screen, as the ball moves, it seems that you see different angles of him, so it would seem so. :)
