The Sarkozy Bastille Riot

When: Sunday May 6, 2007
Where: Paris, France at the Bastille
What: This day was the second tour of the French presidential elections. Nicolas Sarkozy beat socialist Ségolène Royal with 53% of the vote. When the 8 o'clock French news announced some Royal rendez-vous at the Bastille, I decided to go to see if Royal was there. Instead, it was a student lead anti-Sarkosy ralley that turned into a riot. I stayed for it all, but my camera battery was low. These videos and pictures are all I have of this experience.

So what? I'd happily welcome any president, black skinned, or from Ashkhenaze descent, or Chinese or whatever if he had good ideas and wisdom. Sarkozy is French. Anyone with the mention 'French Nationality' on its passport is French, to me.
