Banana Boats for Water Offerings

Making Krathong. For Loi Krathong. Hand made banana based floating offerings. Marisa made these floating offerings from banana leaves and trunks cut by our landlord from behind our bungalow. She had help from our landlords daughter and her friend from the dive school in Chaloaklum. Later after sundown, all of the "krathong" were floated on water and offered up to cleanse the spirit. The Thai Loi Krathong - "Festival of Lights"? or "Flower Festival"? or "Water Ceremony"? Full Moon every 12th Lunar Month. not to be confused with Songkran - the Thai New Year, also a water party.
