Kelly Fuller walks the existing powerline road near Ocotillo Wells in 2006. The Fish Creek Mountains Wilderness (established in 1994 under the California Desert Protection Act) can be seen in the distance. In this movie clip, Kelly approaches an existing lower-voltage power pole (approx. 69 - 120KV.) The poles shown in this video would be replaced by 150-foot tall four-legged steel structures if the proposed power line were to be constructed. Listen to the quiet. www.Wilderness4All.org

  • Wow, thats pointless. The power plant is a good thing.

  • looks like a good place for a powerline to me, we should add a nuclear power plant while we are at it too.

  • Kelly's walk was a great way to raise awareness about the true nature of the Sunrise Powerlink. As Kelly points out on her blog, this is not the most pristine piece of desert the power line would go through. Those are further along the route in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park which would be devastated by this destructive, anti-green and unnecessary boondoggle.

  • Kelly's walk was truly inspiring!
