I like the idea of sounding out a rhythm pattern, then translating it on the drum. You might have observed renowned trap set drummers like Buddy Rich or Max Roach scatting their beats & ornaments while playing. Not that I am anywhere in their class but I do the same, at least in the early stages of thinking out a riff. Later I might internalize it - you don't want to bother the fiddler with your mumbling :-) Thanx for this; I’ve subscribe to your channel & I hope you’ll post more like this

Thanks very much for that, you've taken some of the mystery out of the pitch changing of the 'top end' technique. I'm currently learning the more trad. tipper style but still, very inspiring. Thanks!! Greg B
