@yendorification Hip-Hop died when it's fans stopped looking forthemselves where to find it.The radio gave you the perception that it was dead,it was really underground, don't believe the hype
-
how dare you use Pulp Fiction (my favorite movie of all time) to be an example for violence in hip hop!!!!!!!!<----you can tell how angry i am by the number of exlamation points.
-
@fingerbang666: that's mainstream hip hop retard, there is more than one kind of hip hop, what you hear on the radio is coporate hip hop that knows violence & anti-intellectualism sells to white boys in the suburbs, underground hip hop is political & intellectual (immortal technique etc)

Hip Hop died when it went commercial

Hip Hop is either "fuck these bitches I'm gonna blow a n***as head off his shoulders"
or it's "black man is God, God loves black people...".
There's very little else.
Any time a rapper starts to sound too academic he's denounced as "a fucking faggot", even by so-called conscious rappers.
If you're gonna deal with politics or philosophy in hip-hop you either do it in the way someone like Common does or you're fucked.

@fingerbang666 there is a plan to keep blacks mental slaves fingerbang666 .im telling you this cause i dont think your black, and thats the only way you would know. Now there is a shit load of transending hip hop out there, transending because hip hop is the pinnacle form of musical expression.because it can be all forms.thats power.what would a greedy enemy do to controll that power?want good music listen to doom or saul williams or supreme clientell get that first goodie mob
-
Again you confused MC's with rappers, theres a difference.Rappers don't have a message and only want to rape the music and make money.2pac was a activist for black rights, watch some of his speeches and you'll see what I mean.None of those other guys you listed have messages.Plus the influence they cast is like a grain of sand on a beach. The poverty, drugs, violence and gangs exist regardless of who speaks about it.You cant blame music for the actions of people, ppl have minds of their own
-
More than a few? Try most of them! Eminem, 50 Cent, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Eazy E, Ludacris, Akon, Puff Diddly or whatever he's calling himself now, et al..you're saying these "artists", whether alive or dead, don't cast an insidious influence on society with their message of pure filth and dreck? It's easier to climb Mt. Everest in your underpants than find a hip-hopper with a message of love, hope, forgiveness, and compassion. And don't even tell me Run DMC because that was rap, not hip-hop.
-
Thats extremely ignorant to say that hip hop has all bad intentions and all the messages are bad."Sensible" people should listen to more than a few artists who only make the music for money, and dont have a message.
Repeated listening to the same kind of music for a certain period of time can have a brainwashing effect. I have no doubt that society has become increasingly violent due to gangsta rap and the violent lyrics in hip hop.

Hip hop was originally created as a form of expression. An outlet, if you will. It was never meant to cause any harm. But it allowed those with stress and problems to release their stress with words rather than violence.
