To use the system a user moves the mouse over a grid of nine blank squares displayed on a computer screen. Rolling over each square causes a different pattern to appear under their fingertips.

A user is given a sequence of tactons to remember and simply clicks on the squares that match their pass-pattern. The sequence of tactons and squares is randomised each time, making it impossible for anyone to spy on a user as they click

  • what a waste of time. Once again, tech people should not demo their own stuff.

  • What happens is you are to learn a mapping of patterns to squares. Each tactile pattern you learn stands for one of the nine square positions. After each pattern you move to the corresponding square. Make sense?

  • It's a tactile password. A litle set of bumps raise up, like Braille, and when they fell right, then you've entered your password. This is a "password" scheme that makes it difficult/impossible for other people to shoulder-surf your password.

  • Agreed, and slashdotted.

  • A little explanation would go a long way!
