It clearly was on purpose, there was no need for him to move his foot in that direction, and this is coming from an England fan. I agree with you about Ronaldo, but I honestly think Elizondo would have sent him off anyway.

In fairness, it clearly was a red. This was a rather dirty world cup - 345 yellow cards and 28 red cards, 9 of them straight reds.

3 of those straight reds from this very ref, Horacio Elizondo - not many refs have sent off Tomas Ujfalusi, Wayne Rooney and Zinedine Zidane in the same tournament!
