Hey everyone. If you happened to read the description of my last video, you would know that Kingo had emergency colic surgery on the morning of December 10th. Of course, this video is dedicated to him and his recovery. All the video was taken at the hospital. (not the new barn) Yes, that is my car he is licking in the last clip hahaha
December 9th, King coliced pretty bad so the vet came out and pumped him and everything. When I came he looked alright, and once the drugs wore off he seemed completely himself. At around 10:30 that night I was told he coliced again and was being rushed to the vet; as another vet had come out to the barn and couldn't do anything to reduce his pain. I wanted more than anything to be with him, but the new barn is about an hour from our house, and the vet clinic is even farther. After several attempts sedating him, it was obvious he was still in immense pain. An ultra sound showed that his small intestine was in fact twisted. At around 1am we got another call saying that without surgery, there would be little chance that his intestine would untwist it's self, meaning he would probably die without the surgery. Of course we opted for the surgery, which went quite well. At about 5:30am he woke up, not looking that great, but who would after surgery. He's going really well now, considering everything. We actually have to ace him to hand walk him because he thinks he's more than ready to go back to work!! however it's going to be 2 months until I can ride him again and at least 3 until he can jump again. Nevertheless, we're thankful it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Our schedule for this season is clearly going to be slightly altered, but that's the least of our worries, things like this happen.
Get better soon Kingaroo, love you so so much
