@UncleStumpy You're not alone. I think a lot of people would like to see those games between small hockey nations. It's just cool to see an ISRAELI or a SOUTH AFRICAN ice hockey team! Ice hockey in regions where there's no ice or snow at all. Epic!

@mushmouth4life WOW that's the best IDEA i've ever Heard,,, when are you going to execute your plan?? how can i be involved?

Im actually looking into creating a non-profit to take donations of old skates and other equipment (as well as money for new stuff like sticks) and helping hockey in the "dongbei". Heilongjiang has as many people as Canada, approximately 7 million children under 14 and only 750 registered junior hockey players. Someone needs to give these kids a pair of skates, warm gloves, a stick, a puck and directions to the nearest frozen river. Maybe the China Dragons (ALIH) would stop being so bad.

To play pro hockey, yeah equipment is needed but to just play some pond hockey, all you really need is skates, warm gloves and a stick. It's one reason why North American hockey has a history of fighting, when kids used to play, fighting was a way to discourage illegal conduct (i.e. slashing) I

@Xrrific yet u all dumb canadians use Chinese products....soon china will conquer the world and make u kiss Chinese ass........ I'm not chinese

@mushmouth4life lol, how do u no its heilongjiang??? u chinese? hockey is an expensive sports. i live in canada,, the goalie equipment cost at least $1000 not too say training,... all these players were born in the 1980s when china was much poorer. back in the day they used to play just by pouring water on the ground to make ice. Beijing doesn't have a lot of cold days... but yes the sport is getting more popular (among the rich folks) there.
i wish tsn would show these games, seriously
