Several short clips on the QNS&L. South bound Budd cars on the Shadow Trestle at about mp 12. This is as far north on the railroad that has road access, (if you want to call it a road) Next morning south bound ore train, north bound passenger train with an assortment of cars. 9-21-2000

  • Great fun to see your clips, having ridden the line to Schefferville about 3 weeks after you shot these.

Some dope pulled the emergency brake cable just as we were leaving Schefferville, so with the delay, we crossed the trestle in the dark. I was so bummed, because I really wanted to take pictures as we crossed it.

  • That is really a neat spot there at the bridge. But we saw the strangest thing while we waited for the train. A helicopter was coming at us, flying south over the river. When he got to the bridge the river turns hard to the left, and so did the copter. He flew the thing right under the bridge. We stood there amazed, and then I kicked myself for not getting it on video. Glad you enjoyed the clips. Take care, Jackmp294

  • Nice RDC-1s? Just wonderin'. Thanx fur sharin'!

  • Love this video of the QNSL SD40-2

  • Lot of those SD40-2's of QNSL went to Wellsboro and Corning Railroad.

  • @traindude80

I flew into Wabush, but Sept-Iles has an airport, too, and I flew out of there. I think I came from Quebec City.

    The train ride was unforgettable.

  • Hi, and congratulations on this video!!

One question: in the last train... the RDCs had their engines removed and only ran as ordinary passenger coaches, or was there another why they weren't running on their own?

    Thanks for sharing this vid!

  • Ahh! The old "Wabush" cars. Though, come to think of it, I never seen thses kinds of cars in use on any other railway. Hmmmm...

  • Wow, I want to ride on Railroads that roar through the northern wilderness, and the QNS&L is one of them. The northest I've been by train is Gaspe. :(

How do you get to Sept Illes?
