i am 16 and i have to get i think its called bilateral saggital split osteotomy um i think they are just goign to move my lower jaw back a few mm like you i can bight down in front like the closest thing to biting down in the front is on my left side my top front tooth and my bottem front tooth soo i cant like bite things through
im wondering did you get your jaw shut or did you get screws on your bottem jaw ?

It wasn't technically wired shut; there were just really tight rubber bands on that kept me from opening, but those get periodically loosened. But on both my top and bottom there are 4 screws keeping my jaw bones together from where they were broken, but that's all internal so you don't really feel it.
If you're 16 you probably aren't done growing though. If you have the surgery done now, then you grow more, you might have end up having problems again- I would mention this to your doctor.
