25th January 2009. One of our regular Sunday morning Huneliggers ( http://huneliggers.nl ) rides. The video shows riding from one side of Groningen to the other, and starting on the way back to Assen.

The music is "The Trees They Do Grow High" from Edwin Morris' album "The Heart Bowed Down". It is licensed under the creative commons and can be downloaded here: http://www.archive.org/details/BB015

  • who performs the soundtrack?

  • @sthomper89512 Edwin Morris. It's in the video description.

  • Great video - thanks! What is the make and model of those yellow bikes? I want one!

  • There are two different types in the videos. The Mango from Sinner Ligfietsen and the Quest from Velomobiel. Both are excellent machines. Very fast and also very practical.

  • Did you ever go south of Assen and East to the German border? Like Borger - Ter Apel?

  • For no particular reason, I've never got around to visiting Ter Apel. However, I have cycled over to Bourtange a few times, and to Borger. Sorry, I didn't make a video of these trips.

  • A cyclist paradice. Wouldn't it be nice if all politicians and road builders thought like this? So many recumbents ! I have only ever seen one in Wales where I live all my life, and that was with a CTC day out.

  • That's me racing op that viaduct at 7:32 :)

  • You forgot to mention that you only had ONE traffic light in the city. Hope to cycle again with the Huneliggers, but looking at my agenda, it is not going to happen soon.

  • You should explore that side of Drenthe, its lovely their and personly my favorite.

  • Hello David

    Very nice, wonderful music.

You know, for a moment it's as if I was riding with the group.

I wish I was riding with the Huneliggers. I'm not even sure if there are 100 velomobiles in the whole of North America

There is a growing number of recumbent bicycles showing up here on the Island. When my Quest arrives it will be the first velomobile here.

Perhaps I will start a group to ride with.

Many Thanks for yet another great video.

    David
