What's the difference between this and a frogstand?

frog stand your knees are rested on your elbows which takes weight off your muscles.

huge diffrence. a frog stand has you legs taking most of the pressure off of your arms, allowing armes to focus on balancing. the tucked planche (however) leaves both balance, and lifting soley on your arms (and finding the center of balance can be a b!+c#)

are your arms supposed to be bent when you do this?

no. bending your arms shortens the lever and reduces the strain on your shoulder muscles.

you should train it with straight arms because a bent arm planche doesnt realy look very good and its not as hard. also you should train tuck planche pushups too just to keep balanced muscles. you dont want massive shoulders but no triceps or biceps.

no, it decreases leverege acting on the shoulders. Once you go through a few progressive variations you can use this for puchups though.
