Bruce Arnold and his band Orpheus perform their 1967 hit single "I've Never Seen Love Like This" at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, NY.
This lip-synced performance was shot for a television show, which aired locally in NYC.
Written and arranged by Arnold with some lyrical input from bassist Eric Gulliksen, this song was the group's second single released by MGM. It received heavy airplay in the Winter and Spring of '67 and became one of the band's most recognizable hits alongside "Can't Find The Time" (1968) and "Brown Arms In Houston" (1969).
Bruce Arnold lives in Marin County, California and has recorded a new album with plans for a future Orpheus project featuring original members Howard Hersh, Elliot Sherman and the legendary drummer, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie (who was the uncredited player on the band's material for MGM).
The new album available now features the late great Brad Delp (Boston) as well as David Freiberg (Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Starship), Jerry Harrison (The Talking Heads), Darby Slick (The Great Society, Jefferson Airplane) and the Tiger Okoshi horn section.

Digital downloads of Orpheus music are being offered by Iris Music Group (IMG). The mixes on these releases do not match the original LP's and in many cases, a digital echo effect has been added. Furthermore, IMG has deliberately changed the artist's names in an attempt to circumvent royalties. Bruce Arnold does not endorse or recommend these dishonest and sonically substandard releases.
The name "Orpheus" is a Registered Trade Mark of Bruce Arnold Music (BAM, Inc.).
I'm from Mansfield, Mass., and these guys were so huge when they came out. The band I was in at the time learned this, Can't Find the Time and Congress Alley. They were always requested everywhere we went. I see that some other from Mass. have already posted here. I think you'll agree that unless you lived it, it's difficult to tell people just how big these guys were when they came out. Simply amazing! Awesome, awesome stuff!
