Kalla Faktas reportage om Jutta Rabes dykningar vid Estonias vrak år 2000. Låg ursprungligen på VHS, och Estonianörd som jag är, så är bandet helt sönderspelat, så jag beklagar den dåliga kvalitén.
@airasweetie excellent reply i so agree. i get pertty fed up with this shit that we just acept and let go..now almost 20years later.we are no more smarter or knowing about the sinking that we was 8 years 10 years and 15 years after disaster. screw the goverment and now its toio late noone cares or seems to care. i just want answew, not for politics, war or peace. i want answere so everyone affected can let go and find hamony.to find answere and move on. now that is pretty impossible.. sad but true
That's the swedish politics, and it would be okay if they said: "We can't handle this because of the strong emotions and the cost!" Everyone would have understood that. Instead, they force every Scandinavian country to sign an agreement, forbidding any type of investigation on the wreck-site. If politicians said that here in Denmark, we would have their balls for breakfast. Disrespect at its worst.
@Squad2ND Well, I don´t believe that their unwillingness to recover the ship is because they have something to hide. I think that is the problem with our politicians in general. They didn´t have the right knowledge to understand that it was possible and I think they were afraid of what the costs would be of such a project. Swedish politicians prefer easy and economical solutions and costly investigations. Investigations means more money to the politicans that they hire for the job.
Yes they should have recovered the ship, and that is the main reason for, not conspiracies, but for unanswered questions. Companies specializing in recovering shipwrecks have been standing in line to not only raise the ferry, but also the bodies. All have been refused, and only Satan knows why. Families of the victims *want* the bodies returned so they can get a proper funeral, so the government can't even say that it's "out of respect" for those who died. Close the fucking case!
@Squad2ND People always try to find conspiracies and alternative explanations because we can´t face the truth. It´s unbelievable that a big ship can sink and hundreds of people can die due to poor maintenance - but it did happen! The investigation has already shown the cause of the accident and of course the shipyard don´t want to be blamed. They should have recovered the ship at once. Then we wouldn´t be in this situation.
It's obvious you didn't lose any dear ones on that ferry, otherwise you wouldn't say such nonsense. It's in International waters and neither Germany nor USA signed that "forget and move on"-treaty disguised as 'pure concern' for the victims, so the Swedish gov. can't do doddle-shit about it. The gov in Sweden has failed to come up with a proper explanation, and have miserably failed to cover it up too. It's a circus that deserves no respect.
@SuperLilleman and they stopped him even though the law against diving down to the wreck was settled. there just too many loose ends on this thing. and it´s handled so clumsy and unconsiderate torwards all deceased and their near ones.
but the government said on the news that they went diving to look at the situation and they came up and told us no bodies were on the deck. they were all safe and sound inside the wreck. a big fat lie, and it was fed to us during the talk about picking up the ferry and bringing it to safety. no and that´s a big reason for picking up the wreck. sweish military´s covering up something. they even listened in on a guys phonecalls and stopped his attempt to dive for his wife. how weird is that!!
@airasweetie I don´t think they lied because everyone knows that there is bodies outside of the ship. You don´t even have to investigate that. People were jumping into the ocean and it would be pretty wierd if all those people ended up inside the ship. I don´t think that this changes anything. Howevery, I do think that they should have tried to recover the ship directly. There is no way people are gonna respect this resting place in the future.
