Shedding the body animal has two meanings for me, stemming from two seperate desires. One is a form of acsension; shedding the animal body that we all possess for the spiritual. The second meaning means overcoming (or at least seeking to control) our primal animal urges.

Yea, it's the same thing. I just put the adjective after the noun (which was not uncommon in old English and is still the way it's done in many European languages.) In the 1800's Walt Whitman wrote a poem called "I Sing The Body Electric" (back when the word "electric" was not very commonly used.) The Twilight Zone also had an episode named "I Sing The Body Electric". I kinda stole that from them. ;)
