Come on, focus, Joe told himself angrily. Focus and just concentrate on the music. He sat alone at the edge of the stage, hours before soundcheck, absent mindly playing his guitar, not being able to keep his mind away from Demi. He remembered everything about her: her hair, her smile, her laugh and not a day went by when she wasnt on his mind. The past few months, hed shut himself away and barely spoken a word to anyone. He ran his hand through his dark hair, staring into the empty concert space, wishing he was a million miles away from here and she was by his side. He shook his head violently, wishing that it would clear the past from his mind. He knew it wouldnt. He wandered outside, and lay on the concrete, staring up at the sky, watching the world fly by. His mind just kept replaying when hed last seen Demi, their day together, over and over again. It was the flashback that would wake him up in the middle of the night and constantly be haunting his mind.
The last time theyd been together, everything was perfect. Almost too perfect. Joe and Demis friends and family had realised that this wasnt just some silly teen romance. Joe had asked Demi to come along with them on tour, he had it all planned out and he thought they would have the most amazing time, being together every day.
But Demi had said no. She wasnt coming. She wouldnt say why but Joe was devastated. She made him promise that he would call her after every show and he kissed her gently and swore he would. Joe also promised her that if she ever needed him to come home, she just had to say the words and hed come straight back and into her arms.
Its been months and he still hasnt called.
Demis given up holding on to what they had.
Tonight the worldwide pop sensation, the Jonas Brothers are in California. Tonight they are playing the Staples Center.
Demi, hundreds of miles away is sitting in her bedroom, strumming her sisters old guitar and just as Demi is on Joes mind, Joe is on firmly Demis mind. She cant forget what they had, but she feels like he has forgotten about them. She sits there and words suddenly start pouring out of her mouth
Did you forget that I was even alive? Did you forget everything we ever had? Did you forget? Did you forget about me?

Tears start falling from her eyes as she has found the words that shes been wanting to say for so long finally escape from her mouth. Shes found a way to tell the story of her broken heart.
But why is it this way. Why had Demi not come with the Jonas Brothers on tour? More than anything she wanted toBut something happened. Something no one could plan for. Something that came from nowhere.
*Flashback*
Early morning, Demi has just woken up and is going downstairs into the kitchen for breakfast. As she walks in, she sees her mom sitting there with make up smeared across her face, Demi knows she has been crying. Demi feels her heart pound as her mom reaches out to take Demis hand*
Diana: Dem, can you sit down please, I need to talk to you.
Demi: Mom, what is it? Whats happened?
Diana: Hon, your dad hasnt been too well lately. He went to get some simple routine tests, butTheres no easy way to say this sweetieHes got.. cancer. Hes going to have treatment and operations and they dont know if its spread, they think theyve caught it early on so it might not have developed too much and hopefully, itll all be gone before we know it.
Demi: *Sits there frozen, silent and before she can stop them, tears are streaming down her cheeks. She stands up and runs out of the house slamming the door and runs to the treehouse at the end of the garden which her and her dad built when she was little. She looks up at it, standing there so strong and so secure. She climbs up sits inside as it begins to rain and the wind starts howling outside. She rocks back and forth, hugging herself tightly. The treehouse starts to creak as the storm builds and as it sways gently, she realises that maybe the tree house wasnt as strong as she first thought, seems like not everything is as strong and secure as she thought it was..
