So, I watched a movie last night and saw this hairstyle and thought, "Hmm. Maybe Kat will take a shine to this one." So, we're trying it. If you don't like it, Kat, lemme know, I'll find something else. For the rest of you, this is a period-esque hairstyle and for those of you that like braids, I think you'll really like this one.

*Update* It totally didn't work for Kat. No worries, because my mistakes lead to more hairstyles for everyone while I try to get it right! She did like it, though. So that's good.

  • Torrin this is BEAUTIFUL !!!

I have tailbone length hair that is SUPER THICK, just like yours & have just LOVED all of your tutorials !

I have wanted to do pretty hair styles for so long but thought I couldn't do them.

Thanks to you I have TOTAL SUCCESS !

I'm a civil war & victorian re-enactor & cannot wait to do these styles now !

I really wish I could send you a pic of my hair in this style with an antique rhinestone comb I bought years ago. It holds beautifully in "The Countess"

  • @southernbellekari oooh, you could send it to my contest email addy...lol...torrinpaigecontest at gmail dot com - I do so love pictures!!!

  • You are so talented! :) May I ask how long it took for your hair to grow that long? It looks beautiful <3

  • @Rosesinthewoods First off, I'm very tall (6 feet) so it took a bit more time for my hair to reach tailbone then it has some other people, just because my body is so long. LOL. From chin length to waist length took about 6-7 years. During that time, I grew by bangs out, had layers and then had to let them grow back out, yadda yadda. My best guess is 8 years all told from chin to tailbone. But if I had left it alone and hadn't done all of that? Maybe 5?

  • If you want really cool braided hairstyles, you should try the version of "Hamlet" with Mel Gibson in it. The queen in particular has some very gorgeous and fancy braided styles.

  • @mokster5 I don't think I've watched that movie since college - and back then I didn't pay as much attention to hairstyles in movies. LOL. I'll have to take another look. Thanks for the tip!

  • @LoriHulstine Sock buns are a great way to double your bun size instantly - with something you have around the house! just cut the toe out of a sock and roll it up like a donut. If you want a bigger donut, use a bigger (longer) sock.

  • Beautifully done, as usual. I need to try a sock bun, I never have before. This totally has inspired me. Simple but doesnt look like it. Love it! .

  • Will do !!! :)

  • @torrinpaige Lol, I never thought about tall people vs. shorter people. I am quite tall myself and I have curly hair, so it looks like it grows slow because my hair is so thick. My gosh, extra long time! Haha. Okay, thank you so much for answering. Love your videos! *just subcribed* Love from Norway! :)

  • Love it...I'm going to try this one and the Skyrim one...looks like fun.

BTW, have you checked out the Video called "Super Long Hair Meets the Chair"? Scary gorgeous!
