Battle at 2nd Limbus Gate

After having completed the game (and reaching level 17 on all 4 chars), I'd personally rate this game 7/10 in comparison to all major RPGs I've played, which is about every one since EOB 1. It's worth the buy, but the deepest part of it would be the rule system, the sheer amount of side quests and background info on the world, not the main quest. Reaching places takes ages because of the slow running speed, there are some minor bugs. Definitely not playing again with a new character.
For the most part, combat is badly balanced: fights mostly either take less than 10 seconds or several minutes. You get the meaning. Itemization is ok but some stuff should be available earlier in the game because its hardly of use later on. Controls are a catastrophe. Cam speed is way too high and fixed, the cam lags behind and you're forced to use WASD controls and correct the buggy cam with RMB all the time. Nothing that can't be patched up however. I enjoyed the game anyway.

In retrospect, this game has aged very well. Especially in comparison to other recent more casual-style RPGs.

I'd say it is, the sequel as well. It's as complex as you allow it to be. You can customise your characters to a great degree and there is enough to do item and skill wise.

1.it is defenitly not an spin off of NwN ist is based on the german PnP "the Dark Eye"

2. you need your companions because you only can block one or two hits in one round and if 6 ore more people attack you... well... you are dead fast... also you need the different skills of your companions

3. a "dead" character is not really dead... he is just dying... he will stand up after the fight with a fatal wound

@zarbon2 she has an own sidequest in ferdok... you get the helmet there (basically a coplete amazon armor)... but i dunno what triggers the quest
