  • somebody known who made a music?

  • @oberek92 I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the dances on your site when I have a little more time. And I do appreciate the musical explanation!--You could have fooled me--I was thinking it might have been 6/8. I can't tell the difference by ear.

  • @oberek92 But my ability to read music is somewhat basic--I get it if it's on the page in front of me; if I have to noodle it out by ear, For Christmas the guy in the second group had me singing in both Polish and Welsh. It was a challenge! I looked at some of the dances on your site--The very long sleeves were a surprise to me. What do they signify? Where are they from?

  • @oberek92 Thank you so much for this wonderful and complete explanaion. I looked at your site and saw what you do for a living--how wonderful! My husband and I dance, currently English and Scots country dance, but also character dance--Hungarian--and my specialty is ballet. I sing with two groups, one Celtic music and one eclectic(we'll sing anything we can get our teeth around!)

  • @EMesaros oberek is 3/8 basic step is made of three runned short steps with accent down on ONE bending the knee and progressively straightening leg on TWO THREE - then again bending from other leg for 3 other steps. Rythm: RIGHT left right, LEFT right left ... Many examples on YouTube.

  • to oberek92--Thanks! I did wonder. Your name made me laugh--I didn't know what an oberek was until an accordion player in a band patiently explained it to me. My husband still grumbles that an oberek is so fast that he doesn't know how to dance to it.--polka step or waltz?! Most beautiful dance on Y-tube: type in "mazur--Polski taniec narodowy." Well at least it is my current favorite!

  • @EMesaros You are right this polonaise is 3/4 all long. But tempo here is accelerated (artificially?) This music is from CD 'polonezy' of Polskie Nagrania edited in years 1985 in Poland.

  • omg!... ak to boli maturanti, tak museli byt tak duti nato, ze az! .. jedine co tam bolo upe ze fajn, bol ten anglicky valcik na koniec, inak to malo totalne nizku uroven na MATURANTOV!!!... strasne!
