We know so much about nutrition and its powerful effects to create disease or protect against disease. However, the question that seems unanswered to the majority of our population is what constitutes a healthy diet that is actually disease protecting versus one that is disease promoting? What degree of nutritional excellence is necessary to make a diet therapeutically disease reversing? How do we measure the quality of our diet or the degree of nutritional excellence we are obtaining? Joel Fuhrman, MD, a board-certified family physician who specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional and natural methods, discusses the foods to eat to lose weight, how to eliminate food cravings and overeating, and dietary recommendations for disease reversal and prevention.
I got introduced to this doctor watching the documentary "fat, sick and almost dead" which is an amazing film offered by Netflix and public library. Anyways, I have been on his recommended eating style for 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel better. I don't want or need to lose weight but I do eat bean snacks between meals. I am eating less and stopped eating meat, diary and all grains. First two days it was brutal headaches but gone at 3rd day. Great doc.

When he talks about the fat inhibitors with the high nutrient food, I found when I eat a high nutrient/cal diet, I end up eating many fewer calories anyway.
