Brilliant film. Theres only one actor that can rip up his torso or gain 60 pounds in weight to play his characters.. De Niro is flawless.

Yeah, he's awesome...
Also... Did you know that Vincent D'Onofrio gained 70 pounds for his role as Pyle in Full Metal Jacket, breaking Robert De Niro's movie weight-gain record?
But still... His performance in Raging Bull is just his best ever!

This is a really powerful film, among the greatest of all time.

On another note, I don't see how people can compare this to Rocky, Raging Bull is the story of a self-destructive man. While Rocky tells the story of a man living his american dream.

@vash47 rocky is just another cheesy feel good sports movie in my book, it mind as well be field of dreams, raging bull is a story of a sad man's journey towards isolation and how he had so much ability that he squandered through many acts of self-loathing
