  • @firestonemagic My arrival here is natural

    Into this world with tears and crying;

    What I have is not much, and poor at that,

    Frail and too quickly I have fallen from on high,

    My death is sharp and severe,

    I do not know where I am going,

    foul and stinking I rot,

    O, Jesus have mercy on me!

    But all in old english of course :)

  • @bethski i have this album...so, so good:)

  • @firestonemagic i think it's latin

  • what do the lyrics means?

  • @62szabadsag On the other hand, I believe that faith comes through hearing the preaching of Christ, and from it an encounter with Christ to those who seek him with an open heart. I differ with some aspects of the medieval mindset on this topic but also agree with many others.

  • @JoeTwerton Historical context. Prior to 1054 there was only one brand of Christianity and it wasn't until the 16th century that there was anything approaching the diversity that we have today. Both the concept of and path to salvation would have been quite different to the medieval mind.

  • @62szabadsag Suppose for argument's sake that you are right. How would that be important?

  • @JoeTwerton You do realize, don't you, that the "ultimate salvation" you speak of would have only been available though the Roman Catholic Church since, as a Christian, that would have been your only medieval option?

  • hahahaahahhaha got to love this song ive sang this before!!!! how many of u ppl could pull dis off!!! hahaha porbly not many hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha i think my choir is on there website idk but ill try to look

  • @JoeTwerton Very well put, thank you:)
