pdxeddie1111, if we get rid of private insurance co-pays and premiums then we can afford this. HR 676 plan will only take 2% to 3% out of our paychecks. Small tax breaks for health savings accounts will be too small. How is that going to pay our medical bills? It just won't be enough and those tax breaks will be taking money from some other area that we will regret later. S-P Universal Health Care does and has worked in other countries. It can here too!

taxes never stay 2 or 3% they always go up. Shoot 2 or 3% will just be enough to cover the new bureaucracy to run it. I don't know about other countries but here that's the way it works. If we want socialized medicine (I'm not totally against it) we must cut taxes on other things to keep taxes from spiraling out of control. It's just a matter of what we consider priority. This is why Oregon still doesn't have a sales tax because one Governor told the state the truth.

Maybe if we get the right President both of those things can happen. I think it would be GREAT!
