She floored it and the Prius gave her a half-assed response.

The thing that no one realized is that Toyota like many Asian automakers does not perform these kind of quality/safety tests that other automakers are held to. If this was GM or Ford people would be flipping and starting up lawsuits all around the world. Taking the engineer look on this problem, any domestic car must have the breaking power to stop when the accelerator is fully pressed and do this within 25% of the original breaking distance. Gotta love how Toyota is 'such' a more reliable car!

You have disgusting feet.

@psychoboy95 true but in a low powered car the breaks only would work but neutral would be a good option

Since when did toyota Prius have torque? Lol jk
@bodryn The Prius acceleration problem never existed. One instance was a hoax and the other was driver error, where the driver was pressing the gas but thought she was pressing the brake.

well its hard to see what the problem was with the car that the accident occured in, of course in a controlled setting with diagnostic machines strapped onto the car possibly while on a dinometer it is easier to come to a stop, maybe you are correct the gas pedal wasn't the problem but explain the breaks not working, u claim that they step on the gas instead, ok well in the 911 call the man driving says he even pulled the emergency break a totally different action from pushing on a pedal.
