This fight is an extremely big PITA. I don't know how you are getting him to hit that trap every time. What setting is the game on?

@SPRS4 I recorded this on normal difficulty. During the repeated failures I had figuring out this fight, I noticed that the tentacles you need to hit have a limited area that they drop in. If you pay attention to the areas they drop in that's where you drop the traps. Then to get the kayran to hit the trap hang around the trap till you see the tentacle go up, that's when you dodge to the side to avoid the hit. The two front ones you cannot trap, avoid the front.

@LaughingMand8D Thanks. I managed to figure it out. One issue I had originally was I was trying to set the Kayran trap, which is already on the ground when you start. Second, I failed to realize the first two attempts I was supposed to be using a sign to trap them, NOT an actual trap. I fail at details. haha The thing that can make this game frustrating is that there are many parts to every fight, and each part, if you don't know it ahead of time, you will fail the first time every time.
