Free Ranging Wild Boar Rifle Kill

My son shot this 200lb free ranging wild boar in the Everglades National Preserve in 2001. We have had a couple of hogs get up and run off after incredible mortal wounds, so we took out my .338 Winchester Magnum and intentionally shot through both shoulders so this couldn't happen. (When they run off in the swamp they are very hard to find, if at all, and dogs are not allowed.)

Thats one of those pigs everyone calls a boar. More domestic pig than wild boar.

These pigs in Florida have been around ever since Spain owned it.  There are a lot of domestic pigs that have interbred with them in the past 500 years, but some do appear to at least look like the typical razorback boar. Either way, they are good eating if they are not terribly old. There used to be some wild cows out here that were completely inedible!

iam thinking about using my ar for the same but have been thinking of a 300 win mag for more power and seems like you need all the power you can get, i can see where they would dissapear in the marsh.
