  • funky "power switch beat" :D

  • To fix the low sound issue, you must recap the logic board.

the capacitors are leaking and cause this issue. Itll get so bad, that all you get is simasimac pattern during startup (like your plus does).

Careful, they are SMD electrolytics and the electrolyte has eaten away the glue holding the pads in place on some, so they will pull off and rip the trace. be VERY careful. Pay attention to trace locations, just in case you need to make a jumper wire. I use regular radials with folded leads.

  • 8 MB RAM = 8 GB RAM for old macs like these xD

  • You hear the one about how the republicans quit? They did!

  • @CPQ5360 Oh yeah, the barely audible sound is NOT normal, like the rest of the Macs, the compact Macs should be easily audible. Check the Sound Control Panel for anything awry. Also, the speaker is on the left side wall of the unit ;) (at least, it is on the Mac Classic).

  • A 500 MB hard drive!? Holy crap! Some issues between 0:45 and 1:20? lol

Awesome it has a network card, I didn't know standard ethernet cards where available for 68k Macs. You should be able to download and install the 7.5.5 update from Apple, then? You should try iCab, as well - it's a modern browser for 68k Macs.

    Great video!

  • when you get the big black box, add "yt:crop=16:9" to the tags
