At least nine people spent the night at the Kenyatta national hospital where they were admitted after inhaling a highly poisonous gas in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo estate. The gas is believed to have leaked from a container at a scrap metal factory. An emergency evacuation of the area was ordered and as Jane Kiyo reports, the mid morning incident caused confusion in the densely populated area with at least 200 students in a nearby school having to be moved.
