This is a video to say goodbye to Ruby, my remaining breast, who will leave me in a few weeks. She was named as 'one booby Ruby' when I lost my other one to breast cancer. My cancer started as comedocarcinoma which is how 5% of breast cancers start up, so rarer than usual start up cells. Comedos have 100% malignancy, are very fast growing and have up to almost 40% return rate to the remaining breast. So I'm letting Ruby go in two weeks to avoid future breast cancer. I'm also choosing to go breastless, no reconstruction, no foobies. They're ok for those who choose that direction but for me, they're just not 'me'.

Warmly,

Donna Williams

  • what a positive and strong person you are and a great role model. I have read your books and learned so much from you. I am raising a son who is autistic and your books opened my eyes to his perspective of the world around him.

  • You are truly inspiring! I have always had great admiration for you with the autism/ dissociative thing and now even more so with your adjustment to breast cancer and double mastectomy. You're in my prayers every day. Bon chance! Ellen Wolfe

  • you are a great example of a strong minded women!
