Halibut sportfishing with spinning gear In Newfoundland

A large halibut ripps the eyes off my rod and breaks 50lb spider wire even though my drag was set while fishing off port aux Choix aboard Wind Dancer boat tours....Buying a heavier rod for next season lol

@allannippard have an even heavier rod again now and run 80lb but still break off a good many,main problem with the rod in this vid is the spinning reel,the rod could handle way more pressure turned up the other way with a proper boat reel ...its a riot man..drop down with 20lb on the trout rod the odd time just for the laugh...even managed to land some of the smaller ones like that up to 30lbs pretty helpless feeling though with the trout rod lol...they make a savage run back for bottom.
