Anyway, the MOTU has a comp and a limiter built in to each output pair (not to mention comps assignable on every input channel as well), so you can get a fairly "brickwall" limiter. But my experience is, when the mix is dialed in right, it's stereo, and everyone in the band is on ears, I have no need for a limiter. Certainly couldn't hurt to have something set above a certain threshold to clamp in case of an issue.

what about safety? don't you need a limiter for sudden sound changes in your ear??
