What the World Needs....

Tom Clay, a Detroit DJ compiled the audio portion of this back in 1971, for the past 10 years I have wanted to put video to his audio, and have looked in vain for the song on some CD. My thanks to Newt for coming through for me once again, and finding it for me last week. Here is yet another of my Hippie Peace lovin' historical montages set to music.

This was the first single I ever brought. I was 14 now I am 52. I have tears falling off my chin through sadness and shame at mankinds ignorance to difference. What the world needs now is love is as a powerful a statement now as when it nailed me to the floor all those years ago. I feel ashamed I have not done more. Love is the transformation of harmonious amounts of energy and its the same if your; black, white, muslim, christian, rich, poor, child, family or even a government. wake up!

Thank you for putting this to Tom Clay's classic - it's been beautifully done and is just as relevant now as when it was first released. Let's hope all the young people of the world view it and let it inspire them. I am a huge fan of Gen Y and think the young people of the world are going to make it a much better place than my generation - the Baby Boomers - were able to do.  Peace & love everybody!!

@grantgalea because nothing ever went wrong before one single guy was shot? even just in the US how about all of the wars? how about giving pox infected blankets to native americans and the mass slaughter that preceded and followed? What about slavery? or the oppression of gays, women, children, etc? As far as tolerance and social progress- things have gotten better, not worse. "the devil" didn't "take over" america. humanity is and always has been selfish and violent.
