LOL@ the idea of someone in real life seriously saying "Quick, turn on Action News!!" There's nothing natural about that.

applegate started by letting bree walker go and hiring ann martin from kabc.

It was either the very start of Applegate, or the last waning days of the career of one John Lippman.

Was it the same Bill Applegate from Chicago? The same disaster he did on WBBM. Applegate was god on WLS/WABC and the devil on WBBM/KCBS/KNXT.

If I recall correctly, KCBS were tied for #2 when it went tabloid but GM Applegate changed things and it went downhill.
