  • ..Always wear the seatbelt...if it tips, tuck in..these size forklifts weight maybe 8-11,000 pounds...

  • "The operator was NOT using the seatbelt" That alone very well could have saved his life.

  • yep, companies really look out for their employees, take you own saftey in your hands peop;e, companies do not care!!

  • @undeadnightorc True. But that doesn't keep you from using your seat belt.

Just fasten the damned belt. Don't worry about whether it makes you look like a wuss, or whether it will "slow you down". Just do it.

  • @gasmylife the problem isn't so much drugs and alcohol as plain old stupidity. there should be some kind of stupidity test for heavy machinery jobs. there are some people in this world who are just log stupid when it comes to safety. they take shortcuts, work too quickly or fail to recognize a potential accident and thereby prevent it. it's the same kind of people that drive cars like idiots. people who speed, tailgate, weave in and out with no blinkers will eventually get in a wreck. idiots.

  • @DnaAngel33 Hello. Not in Europe. This is probably in "Lower Mainland" zone (Canada). years 2006.

  • Working to many hours well get to you and accident well happen

  • How did he get crushed? He was DRIVNING it, meaning he was IN it. He wasn't beside it.

  • In addition to the seat belts how about a cage around the operator seat so the operator doesn't fall out in a tip over. The cage has a door and a switch on the door that means the truck won't start unless the door is fully closed. Maybe a switch in the seat too, so if there's not an operator in the seat, the truck doesn't start up and when the operator releases their weight from the seat, the truck stops.
