  • Hey im on my second try and the first time I used a bondo body filler for the bottom. The guy at home depot said it was fiberglass resin but that wasn't true. So i tried it but it still melted my board. know im using a marine epoxy. So before i use it do you know if Marine Epoxy will melt the foam.

    Thanx,

    Balisong10

  • yeah, marine epoxy resin won't melt the foam. that's what you need. and rubber gloves and stuff to work with it.

check out some surfboard glassing videos first, and get an idea for what you gotta do. skimboard's just smaller...

  • Are you on Tybee? I'm almost ready to glass mine.

  • i am slightly nowthwest of tybee.

once I got the hang of making skimboards, I went to making surfboards...but I still have a few skimmers to slip&slide on,

my favorite big blue one is still holding strong.

  • i went on vacation to tybee and there was some good skimming.. do u sell ur boards

  • @PatioMendino about how much did the whole thing cost if i were to buy all the materials to make a skim board... and i know the video was made in 2008 and i was wondering if it broke yet or if its still going strong?

    thank you

  • good job all in all but the nose is way to pointed and thin and should be closer to the ground

  • So, if I were to paint a board with a White Latex paint, prior to glassing, could I then use spray paints or does it leech through the latex and still melt the core?

  • 1:28 Has A Dog In It!

  • i want to make this but how long did they last? I'm scared the foam isnt dense enough to where it will hold up. let me know!

I want to make my own board but i dont want to waste money if the material is too cheap.

  • im gonna get to it today

  • where did you get the foam ??

  • great video but may i suggest that you make them a bit thinner. Its a good surfboard thickness but way to thick for skimboards.

  • @deitydhskater at a hardware store
