the leg thing - Snuggles does it when she is getting ready to lay. Don't know why your boy does it. (I've found Snuggles in the cabinet under the bathroom sink doing that)

how do you take care of their dropping?

I pick them up of course. I'm a stay at home mom and so I'm able to pick up after them when I need to. We also have towels and sheets over the carpets and on the bed. But they do make duck diapers as well.

I sure am! Especially the ones that are injured or handicapped. We have a lot of crippled ducks, birds and chickens. One chicken was hit by a car 5 weeks ago, she had missing skin and an open wound on her side, broken leg...She had MAGGOTS. We didn't think she would make it, but it's been five weeks now and she is WALKING. A true miracle, just like Mezoti. All of mine are miracles.

I have 5 cats (previous strays), 2 dog (strays that came and stayed), one house duck (goes outside too), we have hatched and released 12 other wild duck eggs, 3 rabbits, one guinea pig, one love bird, 12 zebra finches, 2 budgies, and a box turtle. All of these animals were rescues.

Most of ours are rescues too. We have 19 birds, 7 chickens, 9 ducks, a dog and cat now. All the ducks were rescues and 6 of the chickens were, and 13 of the birds too. They seem to just fall into our hands and hearts, and they each have a very special story. Mezoti was snatched by a seagull while still in his egg (Feb 14th, 2008) and then dropped from 7 feet up. The egg broke and the gull tried to eat him. I took Mezoti home to die in peace, and now look at him.
