BalthazarE: I agree with you that there are many proud southern Democrats. The maps mean nothing in as they don't tell the story of the voters, but of the electoral votes, the majority. This leaves a good many folks that did vote Democrat. Originally I'm from New Orleans and I know a lot of Southern Democrats. You can't help how your neighbor votes!

It's true that in general Women dont make as much money as men, but the Gap is getting smaller. This woman should be paid on equal settings as her male counterparts. She should'nt have sued just assuming that because she's a woman she gets less money. She should have talked with whomever was her boss and asked about the pay differences.

Why is anybody surprised by this decision? Have you all been living under a rock? Driving Bush-Cheney and their cronies out of Washington will only be the beginning. This kind of behavior by Corporate America is nothing new. Read some labor history and Supreme Court decisions from the 1870-1940 time period if you really want to understand that what we are seeing in the Ledbetter case is just the monster being reborn.

When you say things like "have you all been living under a rock", I think you are IMHO, missing the point. Lily Ledbtter didn't know this was even happening to her when it happened. The anonymous tip, right? Most of us know this but a lot of folks don't know that SCOTUS condoned it. This is what needs to be brought to people's attention. No one lives under a rock, folks are busy with their lives, never realizing how out of hand things have gotten.
