logan, wv mission 2009 (bcoc)

16 students and 4 adults went to logan, wv from June 6-12.

logan is a rural community set in the beautiful appalachian mountains of southern wv. it was settled as a coal mining town but has now become very depressed with almost a quarter of the town living below the poverty line, many of which are children.

some of the students on the trip built a wheelchair ramp for a needy family, while others put on a high-energy 'kid's club' program for about 50 children from the community.
