  • Hello Jim, thanks for this tutorial. Is there any reason you choose to play with a capo on the second, rather than just tuning directly to open E?

  • Hi Alex - just convenience really; I find it easier to tune Open D rather than Open E, and also it means less tension on the neck of the guitar. Open E does give the tone a higher pitch of course so if you want authenticity it's best to tune Open E.
